Rotary Club
Rotary is service above self. This non-profit organization was founded
internationally
in 1905
by a group of Chicago businessmen who sought to
recreate the benefits of
small town living
within the big city. The first
President was Paul Harris who is
considered to be the founder of
the organization.
The Rotary Club of Burlington Central's involvement in community service
is vast
and weekly
meetings are held to plan and execute fund raising activities
for charity.
Rotary supports
the development and improvement of young
people through
functions and events.
Rotarians understand that each person makes a valuable contribution to a
better
society through
daily activities in business or professions. This self-governed group ensures the strength and growth of its membership through its diversification of occupations, and by keeping new and long-time club members fully involved in its charitable and social activities.
